This essential one-day training workshop explores behavioural science and its application in regulatory practice. Delegates will learn how to apply behavioural theory to specific projects to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of their regulatory interventions.

The topical programme will enable delegates to:

  • Understand the principles of behaviour change
  • Learn the latest insights from the behavioural sciences and their application for local authority regulatory interventions
  • Explore the specific tools and techniques available to improve enforcement activities, such as MINDSPACE and Nudge Theory
  • Use social marketing effectively to improve communication
  • Consider data acquisition and how audience segmentation leads to more successful targeted communication

The trainer, Dr Jeremy Leach, Principal Policy Advisor at Wealden District Council, is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Royal Society for Public Health. With experience as an Environmental Health Practitioner and a Lecturer, Dr Leach has a wealth of practical knowledge which will prove invaluable to staff working across environmental and public health.
